Let me explain. When I was younger I always knew one or two people who were AMAZING at figure drawing and character work in general. So, whenever I had designed a new character, I'd bug them to draw my characters as well. And it was always something cool, because they could get my characters across better than I could.
Except... now that person is ME. I'm the best one of anyone I (personally) know at drawing people. I have friends who are also very good, but they are not better than myself. Their styles are different, which could provide for some interest, but if I ever want to see my characters done better than I myself could do, I'd need to a) make them popular enough to entice fanart or b) pay for a commission.
Damn.
(ON bright side, am writing! Oh, and my character drawings DO rock when I get off my lazy ass and draw
